Regular Meeting of the Board                              January 14, 2008                                                     6:00 P.M.

 

 

WELCOME  - Board Members in attendance: Jane Faggetti, Bill Noland, Debbie Smith, Roger Henry, Bruce Guernsey, Don Lamb, Mike Biesecker

 

REPORTS

 

  

RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUESTS

 

BUS ROUTE BIDS:

 

I recommend the Board approve the $37,000.00 annual contract with Terry Dickerson on route #3 with

Terry Dickerson as the driver and for the corporation to take over routes #2 and #10 beginning with the

2008-09 school year with Doug Randle as the driver for route #2 and Kasha Smith as the driver for route

#10.

 HIRING OF ARCHITECT FIRM:

 

            I recommend the Board approve the hiring of Schmidt Associates as the architect firm for the building

Project.

END OF THE YEAR APPROPRIATION TRANSFERS

 

            I recommend the Board approve the end of the year appropriation transfers as presented; attached as

            sheets 2007-AT1 and 2007-AT2.

PERSONNEL:

 

            I recommend the following personnel items:

        

Retirement:

    Bonnie LaClave – teacher, Thorntown Elementary – effective at the end of the 07-08 school year.

 

Sabbatical Leave:

    Vaughnie Slipher – teacher, Thorntown Elementary – to pursue other options during the 2008-09 school

                       year. She will notify the Corporation by February 2009 about returning for the 2009-

                       2010 school year.

Resignation:

                Sue Birge – life skills instructional assistant at Granville Wells effective 12/ 7/07.

             

Employment:

   

               Jodi Klingensmith – Granville Wells & Thorntown – FMLA for April Turner from 2/25/08 through the

                                                 End of the 07-08 school year.

                Brad Crawford – Custodian (3rd shift) Western Boone Jr/Sr High effective 01/08/08.

 

ECA – Thorntown Elementary:  - Dick Threlkeld – 5th grade Girls Basketball Coach

   CLAIMS

           

            The corporation treasurer and business manager will be available to answer questions regarding

            claim items.

 

            The chair will entertain a motion to accept the claims as presented.
